Changing comments

Post by Kraftwerk » Fri Aug 13, 2010 1:02 pm

I´ve noticed that agree/ disagree to comments don´t change after the comment was changed.

Am i right or is this a error?

Could be useful to avoid the renewing of comments in order to avoid voting them down. But in case of essential changes of the comment this wouldn´t be a good choice

You noticed correctly. From now on only positive comment votes are removed from the comment. Now comment owner can't game with the votes so easily.

Negative comments now retain their voted count even after editing.
Does this count remain if the comment category is changed; for example from Phishing to Malware?

Also, what happens if the comment owner deleted the "spam" comment then creates a new "spam" comment?
Would the original vote count reappear?

I'm trying to include this information to the Wiki ...

Negative votes remain even if category is changed. However if comment is deleted and new one is created then it does not have any votes.

This is a welcome change and addresses my concerns on comment warring!
