Ask.com toolbar is adware

Ask.com in my opinion should be rated lower, at least light green, if not yellow. (red would be a bit harsh). Its toolbar contains adware and is a PUP. It is detected by some antivirus software.

Please look into the rating of this website.

Ask toolbar is a type of spyware/adware, as the parent company has bad business ethics. (Also owns Cursor Mania, Smiley Central, etc.) It tracks your browsing history and sends it to its servers without your permission. I would agree with your suggestion to change it into at least a yellow.

Just quote

It comes included with some free and paid software

Including Nero 8 Ultra Edition that I had used for a year with this toolbar. :-(

Please do not get confused.
Ask.com is a Search Engine,
They develop Ask toolbar which is not only an adware but also a privacy risk and a vulnerable software.
It comes included with some free and paid software, even some "security" software unfortunately
