Can you get WOT for AOL???

Post by Cheater87 » Fri May 29, 2009 4:13 am

My mom uses AOL mostly on the family PC and the rest of the family uses Firefox. I have WOT for Firefox. I'm going to get it for IE also since that is the second browser my dad and mom use. Can I also get it to work for AOL??? IIRC AOL is just IE with a new coat of paint.

I don't know what browsers work with AOL, but I remember in old times having a dialup-modem with AOL, using "Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 by AOL". If there's something like this with modern AOL, you might be able to install the IE add-on just as normal. Otherwise, you might really want to make her switch to Firefox. >)

AOL does not support add-ons, like Internet Explorer does.
As far as I know, this is because AOL originally took Internet Explorer, and slightly edited it. But at the time it did this, add-ons were not yet available.

We rate the websites, the WOT staff creates, and advertises the add-on, and together, we make it all happen.

Getting an AOL user to switch

Post by YoKenny » Sat May 30, 2009 6:00 am

Getting an AOL user to switch to another browser is like getting a FF user to switch to IE8 the better browser. :)

Getting an AOL user to switch to another browser is like getting an IE6 user to switch to FF.

Well that's what I did :-)
