ever rated a website red due to some misunderstanding or mistake???

Post by Ornithophilia » Wed Mar 27, 2013 7:32 pm

I have done it a few times and ended up removing my bad rating... have you ever rated a website red because of a misunderstanding or mistake that caused you to think you were ripped off or whatever reason you rated red but later found out it was a misunderstanding like a glitch in their system or website or something and ended up revising to green... anybody had done that???

I think many would say "Yes"
Why?
We're human aka: prone to error.
This is why there is a forum for Community involvement to point out 'mistakes'

Nope can't say I have. . .You see, I'm perfect.
Oh wait. . . Hmm. . . Well there was that one time, oh that other time, and I guess maybe a couple others, but they were Perfectly done mistakes. ~smiles~

No.

It would take a lot to make me rate a website. I've never rated one, good or bad. I thank those of you that do.

Sure. The most important thing is to recognize, admit and try to repair your error.

I'm sure I've done it more often than I am aware. I suspect I have also rated some accurately but retracted it when I couldn't dig up the original evidence when the site owner challenged the rating. It's a good reason to leave a comment, so the site owner can reach you if there is a question, though.

@Smileydog: The power of WOT depends on large numbers of ordinary internet users getting involved. It's not intended to be a private party for a few power users. Surely there are sites you trust, sites where you have provided a credit card number because you trusted it, sites where you received useful information, sites that provided the service they advertised in a timely manner, sites you feel are having a positive influence in the world. There may even be sites run by people you personally know to be trustworthy and competent. And I'm sure that a lot of them are sites none of the "regulars" here have ever visited. We rely on you to rate those sites!

I'm pretty sure I've rated nonexistent websites due to typing the website in, in an incorrect manner.
