FIFA World Cup 2014 Tickets / Premier League Tickets

Post by spectre » Fri Sep 07, 2012 2:33 pm

Now the Olympics have almost finished online 'ticket' sites are offering tickets for FIFA World Cup 2014 & qualifiers. As these are not FIFA approved sites I would like to warn members again to never purchase tickets this way.

[cite] As for previous World Cups, FIFA will operate an official ticket sales platform via
the official event website FIFA.com. FIFA.com will be the only official online
platform for the sale of general tickets as well as hospitality packages.
Please kindly report unauthorized operators which may exploit the excitement and
passion of the FIFA World Cup by offering tickets they do not have or they do not
have the right to sell to enforcement@match-ag.com.
[/cite] taken from FIFA

Rather than having separate threads for premiership tickets, league cup tickets etc I am listing all sites I find illicitly selling football tickets
here.

http://5starfootballtickets.com returns HTTP 404 ("Not Found")

http://www.5starfootballtickets.com/ loads http://www.5starfootballtickets.com/en/home/

(To confirm shazza's observation, several web proxies that I used display a blank page for that. For adequate protection, web proxies need to be used correctly and consistently.)

5starfootballtickets.com & it's sister site clubjourneyman.com are both UK Vat registered companies. I have emailed a premiership
club hospitality dept. to check they are a legitimate seller for the club.

Thanks, now I can load the website!
So it requires www. for it to work, although when you type 5starfootballtickets.com/en/home/ it loads aswell, just 5starfootballtickets.com/ is not working.

Yes, some websites are like that. The internet is intended for other purposes beyond public web servers. For example, a company may connect an FTP server and an email server as well. It may be convenient for a company to designate www.example.com for its web server, ftp.example.com for its FTP server and stmp.example.com for its email server.

For more, see Weaving the Web by Tim Berners-Lee. (He was that fellow who popped up from under the house at the climax of a dance performance during the the 2012 London Olympics' opening ceremonies.)

Hello friends! I have a question regarding World Cup 2014 Qualifier tickets sale. Does the company who sale only Qualifier tickets on cup 2014, need to be approved by FIFA as well?

Thanks!
