Well, the experiment gave us the understanding of the total effort ahead in terms of developing the Groups concept, integrating it seamlessly with the existing WOT and marketing it.

We realized we simply don’t have the bandwidth for that, given all the other improvements we need to do with the “classic" WOT. So we suspended the work for the time being.

Note, as Timo said, that the ability to use hashtags and search them (https://www.mywot.com/en/search/hashtag) still remain. So what was suspended was the discovery/social/related “overlay” on top.

So we continue to try to find ways to improve the way WOT ratings are presented and contextualised/calibrated (meaning there is a way to get more flesh around the bone in terms of understanding why some site was likely rated the way it was). This goal may not feel every time that important to us “WOT believers” since we have learned over the years to trust the way WOT reputations are calculated. We kind of know that rarely there is smoke without fire. The newer users, however, will need more justification to get to the same comfort level where we already are.

Thanks for sharing that - "rarely there is smoke without fire" - I agree with you. Newer users need to understand why WOT is wot
and what has made it into what it is today. But I didn't use the hashtags because I believed believe there were much more important things which needed to be sorted out than hashtags. But regardless hope something good came out of it. My best regards to the new team.
