New WOT Forum - Your Suggestions

Post by MyWOT-Team » Mon Apr 24, 2017 2:35 pm

Hi everyone,

We are planning on moving the WOT forum to a new platform and in addition to that, improve the way things look and behave.

Because we value you and see you as part of the WOT team, we’d like to give you the opportunity to provide us with your ideas, requests and things you’d like to keep from the existing design of the forum.

Please feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts.

We’ll do our best to take all of your ideas into consideration when planning the new forum, however, we cannot guarantee that every idea will be implemented

Kind regards,
WOT Team

Will the forum links be the same? If not, will you provide a "read-only" archive for existing forum links?
Will user accounts be the same?
Will all forum content be migrated to the new forum?

10px medium gray font on light gray background is visually tedious.

To discourage spam and lighten moderators' workload:
- In a single post by a Rookie or Bronze user, multiple live links not pointing to trusted sources should incur a 10-minute wait.
- All live links not pointing to trusted sources should be automatically disabled, including in user signatures.

Usernames should not be email addresses or domain names.

Reply with quoted source should be available in the OP, as it is in subsequent posts.

Wouldn't this only give mods 10 minutes to catch, read, and make a decision? In the sitiation you're describing, maybe a 60 minute wait would be more helpful. Just a thought.

Add bug tracking. Please allow the WOT community to reveiw the status of problems which members have reported with the WOT system and website.

It's for the "benefit" of the spammer, and for the unusual non-spammer who somehow fit a spammer's behavior. A spammer gets paid very little per post, so it's only worthwhile if he can post quickly. 10 minutes between posts is quite unproductive.

I think it would be really great and good if one could sent email to another member inside WOT itself in order to clear doubts about sites they plan to join, especially if the other member has given the site a GOOD rating. To know more information about the site and the reason why he or she has given a GOOD rating. But the email address should be kept private. Sending emails should only be done within this site itself. There are some sites which gives one this opportunity which will definitely help many to decide whether to join a site or not and not to get involved in any scam site.

You may be happy to learn that you already have the ability to use WOT's Private Message (PM) function to contact any other registered user who is willing to accept your messages. (Some active members of the WOT users' community seem to consider any unsolicited email messages to be spam.) Several other users have requested an option for WOT either to notify users via email when a new PM is posted to their boards, or to provide users with an RSS feed for their PMs.
