NoScript seems to be WOTs nearest competitor, at least in this case...

And, as they say in Chicago, vote early and often.

Voted
@ Deborah
Thanks for letting us know.
I seldom go to about.com since the majority of the pages are advertisements.

After casting my vote for WOT, the results returned:
BetterPrivacy = 3%
FoxyProxy = 1%
LastPass Password Manager = 13%
NoScript = 54%
WOT - Safe Browsing Tool = 27%.

I found another one, for Web Browsers
Interesting results...

Chrome = 4%
Firefox 3.5/3.6 = 15%
Internet Explorer 8 = 0%
Opera 10.x = 79%
Safari 4.x = 0%

The interesting thing is NoScript is for 1 browser only, Firefox. There is no NoScript for IE, Safari, Opera, or Chrome.
So of the 15% of Firefox voters, 54% of them cast ballots for NoScript, while 27% preferred WOT; apparently there's no IE8 fans...

Swing

Post by Guest » Tue Feb 02, 2010 9:42 pm

Wow, that's quite a swing. WOT went from 47% (when Silver Pirate was looking at it . . . was 45% when I was looking at it) down to 27%, in the same day. (And looked again and saw similar results to yours . . . though NoScript has now gone up to 56% . . . WOT is still at 27%).

Must have been either a rush of a lot of NoScript voters in one day, or a lot of NoScript sockpuppets, or else the NoScript folks really did vote Chicago style . . . OFTEN.

Is even more surprising with NoScript because there was that issue with the author of NoScript blocking the ABP and Ghostery stuff without telling about it. I had assumed NoScript would suffer a hit to it's integrity with that, but either NoScript users "got over it" or my assumption was wrong.

And your analysis of the browser results is interesting too.

If WOT loses fair and square then so be it, but I'm wondering if there's some "voter fraud" here.

Definitely agree, but I don't think the results will be portrayed that way.
