Bad website rated Green
good point
thanks lordpake, am changing my rating as we speak, thx
Just googled Adbrite
I googled Adbrite and the ratings are green. Why is that?
You can rate it without visiting the site
You can rate sites without actually visiting them by using the builtin search on mywot.com and clicking edit my rating.
@LightAce
I have no idea why. When I googled, all I got in first page was stuff like wikipedia, Crunch etc. besides the actual company site which in itself might be harmless.
However, their ad network is far from it. Be it intentional or not. If it's not intentional, then they sure don't check the stuff they agree to publish, thus putting websurfers in danger not to mention putting the reputation of websites themselves in danger with these malicious ads.
Two examples:
WinFixer http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks/archive/2007/08/30/1147027.aspx
Malicious BitTorrent software promoted through AdBrite http://torrentfreak.com/malicious-bittorrent-clients-torrent101-bitroll/
While these may indeed be isolated incidents, one can seriosuly question their lack of control what gets pushed through their network ...

Agreed! As long as the business is making money, apathy rules, but evil thrives when good people do nothing.
