months?

Post by c۞g » Fri May 21, 2010 1:52 pm

You rated these domains in days, why would it take months to re rate them with appending the link to this "list" in each scorecard?

BTW, you can post the link in a forum reply as well, it would be nice to confirm validity of source - I've seen many bogus "lists" being referenced, mostly posted on forums.

The !domain is a comment variable Timo developed for use with MRT

There are examples on the Wiki and an enhanced example page (if you *read* the wiki)

It's good for reference links and it replaces the variable with the domain name in the scorecard comment

suppose you rate example.com | example.net | example.org

you reference Google's SafeBrowsing diagnostic page for all domains you're ratings

You can add this in your MRT comment:
http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=!domain

On the scorecard for the domains rated it becomes:
http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=example.com
http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=example.net
http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=example.org

It's copied from the Zeus blacklist.
The thing about the Zeus blacklist is that some domains are FP's (clean), others do not resolve = compromised sites that have been taken down until they're cleaned. Others are genuine.

You need to review each site 1 by 1 and not use MRT for a quick rate.
compare the domains in SafeBrowsing and also in MDL
some are Phishing sites but no malware is present
A few are good sites that have been cleaned since their entry into that list.

what's it matter?

The point is NOT to mass rate the OP list of domains but to rate them individually and not copy scorecard comments...

I agree absolutely. But here http://www.mywot.com/forum/6454-vatican-va-being-downvoted-as-part-of-a-raid it seems that he tried to trick us !

vatican.va

How could you be "tricked" with the inclusion of vatican.va IF you review each site separately and not mass rate the list?

There are clean sites in that "list"
