Example dot com scorecard

Post by Javelina » Mon Mar 24, 2014 4:15 am

The domain example.com is reserved by IANA for documentation purposes, for use as an example. For some reason* it attracts mywot users to its WOT scorecard like moths to a flame. This creates two problems. First: Example.com has 1280 scorecard comments!

The other problem is that Example.com is displayed on the WOT statistics page as a top 10 website.<!--break--> WOT is presumably basing the ranking by scorecard visitor count, rating or perhaps number of comments. If example were excluded, the "real" top 10 could be viewed.

What do you think? Is there a reason to keep it like this? Other suggestions?

* They are probably using it as an example, i.e. a test run for a first-time rating. There's nothing wrong with that; in fact, it might even indicate a disposition toward prudent and responsible behavior without any need for incentives. Yay, for anti-Hobbesian believers that humanity isn't inherently immoral!

Hello Javelina =
You should see at eBay, people trying to bid on "eBay test listing do not bid or buy"
I have been at fault, with example, when I first started :(
Best regards
