Dear WOT,

I am suspicious about a site that followed me on Twitter. It is one of those free TV streaming, cut your cable bill. Sounds illegal. It does not currently have a WOT rating. Please test. The link is:

kodielement.com

Scorecard link: https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/kodielement.com

This looks like one of the typical pirate Kodi "fully loaded" box scams.
It's hosted by Shopify, abuse contact is abuse(AT)shopify(DOT)com but I don't trust their abuse department to do anything, as I have repeatedly reported an illegal drug website to no avail.

The legitimate Kodi® website has an abuse contact at the bottom of https://kodi.tv/contact/ to report these illegal sites, as they violate the Kodi® registered trademark. I have reported the site to Kodi®.

They operate out of Florida according to GoDaddy WHOIS:
<quote user="godaddy whois service">
Registrant Name: Domain Administrator
Registrant Organization: Element Technologies LLC
Registrant Street: 1001 Town Plaza Court
Registrant Street: Suite 1032
Registrant City: Winter Springs
Registrant State/Province: Florida
Registrant Postal Code: 32708
Registrant Country: US
Registrant Phone: +1.8772079957
Registrant Phone Ext:
Registrant Fax:
Registrant Fax Ext:
Registrant Email: admin@kodielement.com
[/quote]

By some measure of fraud they managed to get an EV SSL certificate on their site; I will contact GlobalSign tomorrow on their live chat as their abuse form doesn't seem to be working correctly.

You can't just use the Kodi® trademark to sell products not licensed by XBMC Foundation. I believe even if you fork the software you have to change the name so as not to confuse users as to its origin.
