Rating and comment request( two sites)

Post by Dutch Mountain » Wed May 12, 2010 5:20 pm

Hi everybody ! I'm one of the few WOT members from Holland and webmaster/owner of two sites :
www.celosiabreeding.com and www.boogbosch.nl. Please rate us and leave a comment about our sites

Both sites

Post by Guamokolakotint » Wed May 12, 2010 8:21 pm

Both sites don't mention the handling of cookies. But this should be no problem as WOT itself uses more of them without explanation. The sites appear clean, trustworthy and in addition to that in an appealing design. I rated them green for Trustworthiness, Privacy and Child safety.

celosiabreeding.com

Safe in:

IP Address not listed in 100+ blacklists: http://www.mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=blacklist%3a%09213.133.34.215

Whois info checks out okay.
http://whois.domaintools.com/celosiabreeding.com

"Contact Us" pages requires Personally Identifiable Information, but the site does not have a visible privacy policy

The site puts cookies on computers (4 on mine), but has no visible cookie policy.

The site has no malicious content, therefore I rate green, except for privacy, which I will rate yellow, due to the missing privacy and cookie policies.

boogbosch.nl

Safe in:
Google Safe Browsing: http://google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=www.boogbosch.nl
Unmask Parasites: http://www.UnmaskParasites.com/security-report/?page=www.boogbosch.nl

Not listed in:
hpHosts: http://hosts-file.net/default.asp?s=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.boogbosch.nl
Malware Domain List; http://www.malwaredomainlist.com/mdl.php?search=boogbosch.nl&colsearch=All&quantity=50
URIBL: https://admin.uribl.com/
Malware URL: http://www.malwareurl.com/search.php?domain=&s=boogbosch.nl&match=0&rp=50&urls=on&redirs=on&ip=on&reverse=on&as=on

IP Address is listed on 1 Blacklist out of over 100: http://www.mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=blacklist%3a%0962.75.196.250

The blacklist is Spam Cannibal, which is known for false positives. Since there is no other information that supports Spam Cannibal's I will ignore the listing.

The site itself:
Good thinking on asking site visitors to rate your site;
The "Contact" page requires Personally Identifiable Information, but there is once again no privacy policy.

The website also stores a cookie on my computer, so a cookie policy is needed.

Once again, I will rate this site green except for privacy, which I will rate yellow.

WOT itself uses more of them [cookies] without explanation

WOT has a detailed privacy policy, including a cookie policy.
http://www.mywot.com/en/privacy/privacy_policy

A cookie policy, in addition to a privacy policy is needed on both sites.

Dear Bob Zenith ( and others ),
Thanks for your rating and comment. I'm controlling our sites from 2 IP adresses. On one of them we've had a bot net attack a few years ago. That was solved and since then we have max. security ( don't tell what for safety reasons ). That might explain why we are still on ( only one ) blacklist. Ignoring that is the right approach. We are glad with the ratings and comments and will improve our sites.

A cookie policy, in addition to a privacy policy is needed on both sites.

That's what I had mentioned before.

WOT itself uses more of them [cookies] without explanation

WOT has a detailed privacy policy, including a cookie policy.
http://www.mywot.com/privacy/privacy_policy

A policy is not blindfolding me. WOT states in the cookie policy how WOT will handle the cookies. However, there are cookies set by Snoobi, a software developed for marketing and sales. Somewhere here in the forum you can find more information about it. After you did, compare it with the animation given at http://www.snoobi.com/ at "Analytics cases" . Chapter 2/6 explains that information about visited sites also goes through Snoobi servers. The voice explains that you (the Snoobi customer) will be able to access the results online any time. (BTW, that's why I disabled the WOT add-on in Firefox. It made my browser slow and seems to collect information about any site I visit.)

In WOT's cookies policy, there's nothing explained about it. Also, WOT uses Google analytics which set the probably better known cookies __utma/b/c/z. Those of us who know about those cookies won't need any information. Also, we don't need the information we provide ourselves when we are feeding the WOT tool. It's intended for those who don't know. Considering this, WOT itself doesn't entirely meet the measures we put on other sites.

Your posting on this thread looks like you are trying to muscle in on the OP's request for rating his sites. If you want to request ratings for your site then you should start your own thread, and not hijack somebody else's thread.

"Analise"? Sounds like a Freudian Slip.

Both sites I've rated green, very nice sites and some nice photography (I didn't rate based on design though)
