with mass rating you can

with mass rating you can rate up to 100 sites at once but there is now quantity before quality, so that a lot of rated sites are put from lists which may be (too) old or not really reviewed. ^--- Yes! The accuracy of community rating effort at OpenDNS went "down the toilet" due to availability of a ...

Not directly related, but

Not directly related, but this topic reminds me Ironically, the reported scumware etc sites actually benefit from our attention to them. Report a site via WOT (or add a comment regarding a site). WOT front page (and scorecard pages) display live links to the site. Search engines encounter the links ...

vlaze dot com

vlaze dot com stinykpoo baxturds For well over a year, it has been among the sites I block via a HOSTS file entry http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=malware+vlaze If the GaiaOnline pages will not operate correctly once vlaze has been blocked, I'd say it's time to cross 'em off your list of visited...

logicman, why are you recommending hxxp here?
These are resource links, not links to "bad" sites.

FWIW, I don't think StopBadware.org offers a full "list" for download

hiya

This thread opened with: "lyricsfreak dawt com sometimes leads to an adbrite page" Attention to the SOMETIMES factor spurred my "into the lion's den" remark. Lion's den, slippery slope, can-o-worms... however you label it, verification will be problematic when content is being randomly / conditional...

Alex' suggestion to disable javascript isn't feasible. The WOT scorecard rating relies on javascript. Disable javascript and you'll receive an error msg when trying to send a rating (and the comment text field will be unavailable to you) -=- "Sorry, this page does not work correctly without JavaScri...

yep, spamaroo...

just a followup post to mention that inquiring about a random "completely made up, newly invented, never previously used" email address @ one of my domains did trigger a "someone is researching you" email. Seems like rapleaf has been using this spammish tactic for quite a while. see: http://www.lisj...

asked the owner her asking price?

Hmm, the sale price would need to be over $1 million, else there would be some reaaaaaally upset venture capture investors for "her" to deal with see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapleaf According to a Google search today, Rapleap has achieved 331 inbound links http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=...

Another wannabe

Another wannabe "reputation-n-feedback" site. Several other sites have undertaken similar efforts, but each has failed to gain traction. One which had become marginally successful (i.e. widely-adopted, well known) intended to incorporate feedback ratings imported from eBay.com, iOffer.com, and other...

apologetic postscript -- mending fences

John graciously accepted the apology ~~ and I do think he would have recognized that as joking literary hyperbole even if it hadn't been typed in all caps. Ben, I respect your passion toward fostering growth of the WOT community. Although it may not assauge your moralistic indignation at this point,...
