Taming your SVCHOST$

Many svchosts can be prevented from ever forming if the 'auto-update' is turned off any prog, if not and guaranteed if that prog goes active on boot-up, it will open a svchost to check for updates every few nanoseconds, and if it's 'legit software' like Google's toolbar updater, Real u/d-er, etc., o...

The 'Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act' 2008.

Canadian Rx scams are big busine$$. However what a phone rep won't tell U is by buying thru them, or using them to get controlled drugs, you may spend more time in jail than a convicted rapist or pay much more in huge fines than U will ever make in a life-time of hard work, or that whatever U order ...

Mozilla Firefox 3.6.4 Final (Solution?)

Always good to keep your Fox up to date I guess, so I upgraded to Mozilla Firefox 3.6.4 Final, wondering if that word: 'Final' means it will no longer load? Sure I have AWC (the new build) that blocks a lot of the ad-cookies the FF loves, but after 2 tries to upgrade, even disabled AWC during both t...

Just a + comment.

I normally log-on to WOT thru my H.P., it's now running deep scans so I entered using my Dell, a screen came up telling me that it did know who I was but I was coming in thru a different computer, it synchronized my WOT settings so both computers, or portals now recognize me for return visits/comple...

Cloudy Stuff.

The concept of cloud bug screening is to shoot data through a larger data base of known bugs filtering it, and those who act like bugs or are bugs get zapped. I tried the Panda Cloud install, it was rating ad ware & resident cookies as major threats, auto blocking whole domains like the ones we all ...

Opera Beta s(t)inks.

For Opera 10.53 users stick with it or U Beta get used to the 10.60 build hot off the Opera d/l (legit) sites, a real change for the worse. Imports nothing except is a cookie-magnet un-tweaked, sets-up shop as a 2nd 'Opera Beta' in your Win/Prog-Files, without even an uninstall of the old version, w...

Used in tandem most A/V software works just fine.

This topic began with Trend; a write off as far as I am concerned although I set the freeware basic A/V build up on a smaller test computer I have running XP, slaved it into my DSL hub and it is sure catching a lot of real nasty malware every other A/V prog I have has missed so far, which makes me e...

FYI on Trend Internet Security & Microsoft Security Essentials conflict.

Trend-Micro Internet Security 2010 © does not like to compete with the new Microsoft Security Essentials © antivirus screener (freeware catching a LOT of bugs!). It is like Norton which won't coexist with many other A/V programs on a computer, this is FYI just in case you R thinking they will. Trend...

Nirsoft © Useful Files or Threats?

Nirsoft http://www.nirsoft.net (hides its location per CallingID©) so that goes red from get-go, proceeded to URL anyway 2 find mix/match of WOT ratings, yet for 'who-is' & 'trace-route' & domain tools they sure have some accurate & very useful freeware kit. A-Squared AM 5 does not like their server...

Your opinion please g7w?

Last I heard the U.S. leads the hack/slash & squat pack of unwanted Spam to malware domains/scams & shams. I have found that IMHO some of the most untrustworthy sites originate in the UK. Close 2nd Canadian Rx's! I have cause to visit the U.K. sites as I was born/raised there, but I don't trust many...
