RE: Facebook scam site hiding behind blogspot.com green rating

Green to Red. Seems like a fairly open and shut case.

EDIT:

Having agreed. Sophos' own security site has more tracking bugs than the FBI. Not so much an aficionado of that one, either; and unlike FB, I routinely utilize their product.

RE: When the Groovers Stop Groovin'

@ G7W: <cite>Where's the music?<cite> Yes. At best, as I mentioned, all reference to music is wholly nominal: 'Kid's [sic] Musical Instruments'; 'Musical Themed Paintings'; a red herring category under the site map. Three articles in, all reference to music ceases. RE '<strong>Musical Themed Paintin...

RE: When the Groovers Stop Groovin'

'<strong>Splog<strong>'. Thanks for providing the proper reference, Myxt. Scraping content for 'marketing automotion services' is probably as dangerous as it gets. What I hadn't mentioned was that I had linked to the offending site some time prior to the original domain proprietor selling out. A fai...

RE: diploma-world.com

Agreed.

"Buy A Degree" is fairly incontrovertible evidence of intent. As is their (sliding) pricing scale:

University Degree $100 or the Degree and Transcript package $150

Once diploma-world.com has solicited client 'approval' from the fixed price 'sample'.

When the Groovers Stop Groovin'

<strong>grooversparadise.com<strong> This site began its life as a music weblog, migrating to a custom domain in 2009. At some point this appears to have changed. The content - superficially at least - still relates to music, but careful reading of the copy now posted alerts the reader to various no...

Little Snitch

It was <strong>Little Snitch<strong> which alerted me to the fact this software was attempting to dial home, in fact. An indispensable program, agreed. I've relied on it for years. For good reason, not at all off topic. I set a rule to deny connections, but then noticed the Arcsoft panel lurking bel...

Parksoft

Thank you for rating accordingly, AlphaCentauri. <cite>Reading all that frustration makes Vundo sound like a Disney program in comparison. And apparently Arcsoft is okay with that.<cite> That is the crux of it. Arcsoft appears to have no interest in resolving what is clearly a longstanding cause of ...

Arcsoft Exploits and Skulduggery

Beware if you have recently purchased hardware shipping with Arcsoft software. This may include Pentax or Panasonic camera equipment, ranging to Printers from HP and Epson. The installation of said software initially prompts the unwary individual to register the product - note, <strong>NOT<strong> t...

RE: lexicon: poisoned URL? web beacon?

@ NotBuyingIt Interesting. I knew image files could be utilized as a vehicle to transmit malicious code, but I did not know the same mechanism transmitted address and IP address back to the spammer on opening. Even in Gmail, I bar remote images from untrusted sources. As to the defining jargon, I'd ...
