RE: PC Cleaner busted?
Weird, the PCCleaner site is still up too. I read a story that said police and FTC raided their offices and seized assets, but that doesn't include servers I guess (looks like GoDaddy?).

PC Cleaner busted?
Saw this today: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/11/19/ftc_hits_backers_of_120_meeellion_tech_support_scam/ Florida court has shut down two big 'fake' software operations that we're probably all familiar with. List of entities: Software distributers PC Cleaner Inc.; Netcom3 Global Inc.; Netcom3 Inc...

Wizardius - I think we're standing by ready to review it, but we can't review an empty site. For all we know we could change reviews and then a week later you've got Gucci etc. replicas up there again. It's a good thing you're doing, this is the first step on clearing the reputation, but we need an ...

RE: Hotel booking – credit card number or not?
I have some clients in the travel industry, and this is anecdotal, but Booking.com is a huge, relatively well-regarded company in that space that everyone is trying to beat. Think like Expedia, Travelocity, etc. They're owned by PriceLine which is an even huger company (currently trading at $1,177 P...

RE: Should we rate them as spammers?
Does this mean we're finally going to get the long-awaited "dumbasses" rating category?

RE: 4alldeals
Did a quick check, they look remarkably legit. Over 27,000 feedbacks on the eBay account. 303 feedbacks in the last 30 days on Amazon, average of 92%. Based on my experience barely 1 in 10 people leave feedback on Amazon which implies 3000 sales there alone in the last 30 days. Also have a fairly ro...

RE: paid2clickonline.com
Well, that evolved quickly. Eagle1996: I'm willing to rate the site honestly, but when I looked at it it appears to be running the exact same code base and operation as the site that had received bad reviews. Because of this, how can we review whatever it is supposed to represent in future? If you k...

RE: paid2clickonline.com
How are the ratings unfair when they were accurate as of two days ago? I think a better term would be inaccurate, that is if you've changed the business practices of the operation at all, which it appears plain you haven't. Even the link/join structure is the same as it was in 2007: https://web.arch...

Justice is slow but steady, name and shame site operators punished
I know this isn't current events, but while browsing the web yesterday I noticed that the sterling examples of humanity behind the name and shame site IsAnyoneUp.com were arrested yesterday: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/01/23/fbi_hauls_in_hunter_moore/ This made me curious about what had eventu...

RE: stevecocrates.tk
I confirm that I get the Fiddlesticks message as well. The 'purchase' link goes to checkout.stevecocrates.tk with no apparent context about what is being purchased, nor can I detect any javascript on the page that might be firing to indicate to your application what might be being purchased. This is...
