Re: Is WOT DEAD??
Between the many problems with the add-on, and the complete utterly inexcusable lack of communication by the developers. I'd say it's safe to say that WOT is dead. Such a great tool, it's a damn shame it was left to die. "Dead" is, I hope, too strong, but since the whole "privacy" hullabaloo, even ...

RE: Firefox multiprocess compatibility
The October 20 update of the plugin has not (so far) seemed to affect the speed of Firefox. Plus the (bad words redacted) popup constantly leaping in front of my face and haranguing me to install the Firefox plugin seems to be gone! Yay!

RE: What alternatives to Google can you suggest?
<quote user="Ronnie Owens"> Duckduckgo, bing and yandex are some of the best alternatives to Google. </quote> I've mostly just been continuing with Google. Duckduckgo seems to be pretty good on the privacy front. Bing, that's Microsoft. Is that better than Google? I'm not sure. Yandex is a Russian c...

RE: Firefox multiprocess compatibility
Alas... Firefox became so very very slow, gray-outs where nothing worked for minutes. Then the whole window manager on Ubuntu wedged so hard I had to log in remotely and reboot my system. I haven't had the Ubuntu window manager wedge like that in ages. After reboot and restore all my tabs, all the n...

RE: Firefox multiprocess compatibility
YMMV. I've found multiprocess in Firefox is a huge win -- enough that I'm just not going to re-install the MyWot plugin unless and until there is a version that permits me to run multiprocess. That's a step I do not take lightly; I really like the MyWoT plugin, but the difference between multiproces...

Popup touting browser extension.
I'm constantly getting this popup on the web page. >Protect yourself >from unsafe websites > >Award winning security extension for your browser >Add to Firefox — It's Free I'd love to. I miss the browser extension. But alas, MyWoT is not multi-process compatible yet, so I can't. I need multi-process...

RE: Snopes in danger of closing
Snopes is a valuable service, but this seems more along the lines of "Hostile divorce with custody dispute" than "Snopes in danger of being shut down." Though it does look like it might devolve into "I'd rather kill it than let the ex have it." (There are other complications, but this seems to be a ...

RE: Community update - WOT is back on Firefox!
I was very happy to see MyWoT back on Firefox. But in the time that MyWoT was not available on Firefox, I enabled "multiprocess". Firefox multiprocess is a huge win, much faster, much less likely for a web page to wedge all of Firefox. Web pages usually can only wedge their own process. Alas, MyWoT ...

RE: Community Update - WoT on Firefox
Alas, if you're using Firefox 48 or later, it does not permit you to install un-reviewed add-ons, and the ability to override this restriction in about:config has been removed. I'm on Firefox 51.
Anxiously awaiting approval by Mozilla... Is the new MyWoT plugin going to be multiprocess compatible?
