I have HTTPS addon from EFF on my machines by default. It isn't perfect, though. It can break a few things. Disable "partial" sites in the dropdown menu & you should be good to go

TLDR: It's a business like any other. People shift and things change. It's not always a bad thing. Keep up the community and the main objective WOT has to educate/protect users.

Seeing how WoT is meant to be community-driven, I think such a variety of opinions is a good thing. The rating system still very much relies on reputation so new users who only wish to smear a website will not have much impact on it.

I've never adapted to using Bing although it seems to have improved some features. Still:
