C-Net ='s Cookie Barrage!

C-Net may be a reputable outlet for many progs. However some have later shown up bearing a LOT more than I wanted, like Trojans or Hi-Jackers. Good example is a freeware Periodic Table (freshney.org) prog, great GUI's, too good to be free, right? A-2 scaned it's last build out to a nasty bug they we...

Norton's Off-site scan is just a $ell too.

Even if U go off-site and run the free 'Symantec Complimentary Software Tool', it will scan your computer, if (and that's a BIG if) it does find a bug all it will do is redirect you to a Norton $harware prog to deal with it. IMHO Norton couldn't catch a cold during a global pandemic, & between A-Squ...

Googling up your Wi-Fi Private Info.

I know there is very little that is secure from search-bots and prying Big Brother online mega-corps. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100514/ap_on_hi_te/us_tec_google_privacy Old saying during WW II my granny once told me: "Loose lips sink ships." Well the 'Good ship Google' has a bilge full of gigabyt...

Combusting Monitor early virus.

Many years ago when the internet was a new fad, a virus showed up, with few in the bug-checking game, and most still using 9,600 baud on local (free phone call) BBS's than using the pay-for Internet/few ISP's, it targeted only certain brands of monitors. In essence what it did was tweak the emitters...

Revalations/the Beta Version.

I noticed a smirking picture of the son of Satan in this thread. And when I opened the new ZIP-file lo, I saw a well dressed man living in a castle who has influenced billions that he is the savior of truth and honesty, yea but know this anti-Christ for he is the bringer of cyber-death and ye shall ...

My faith in the ability of M$ to even protect it's own XP OS is unwavering! NOT!!!! Does it matter what OS Windoze retires?

Never installed or used WIN2K, ME, NT, or 2003, I am talking about XP, probably the best and most popular of the litter since 98 was new. Not all users want the sterility & unfamiliar of Linux or even Mac OS-es. Windows met a novice-pro user need, a GUI that worked & was familiar in its many transit...

What would U do if the manufacturer who built the running fine car U bought in 1999 told you that unless you traded-in the model U own & buy into the newer model, they would no longer fix or even insure your ride? Feel pretty ripped-off! http://www.pcworld.com/article/195934/microsoft_drops_windows_...

Hey, I'm going to be rich. Some poor sod in Africa has all this money that he promised to give me 10% of if I just shoot off my bank info to him so he can move his funds. Poor fella, I really should help him out ya think? Now that has got to be a lucky day for me, and prolly one of the oldest rotten...

Beats Me.

To each their own, if U R happy with giving a global network of pay-agents access to your entire life-savings if U R that 1 in 100K who they don't cover & go after when someone makes a $5-mil rip that PP holds U responsible for, like after a home robbery when crooks have enough data on you to really...
