Ugh. The issue has been fixed. For those who are curious what was that:

we've got a combination of high load, database crash during server reboot, thus it took a while to recover the database and return back online.

Actually, majority of internet users don't use any add-ons for blocking. It's a geeky thing.

the use of storage.json is by design - this way the add-on doesn't pollute browser settings to store its information needed for work (aka categories and their description, some configs, etc).
