RE: Gmail Phish?

I have switched 2-step verification on. Password security are one thing. But they might get guessed, keylogged, etc no matter how secure system is.
The single secure approach I am aware about are using keygenerators or time sensitive passwords.

RE: Gmail Phish?

I would recommend to log in to gmail account and enter your phone number. This is done for password retrieval if account gets compromised. I think that gmail often asks to provide more information that could be used for email credential recovery. Additionally, if you have smartphone, there is useful...

RE: Webmasters: This is how a website becomes infected and why.

Would say majority of infections seen are not due to weak passwords how Andrew Brandt claims, but through vulnerabilities in server configs or unpatched website software. Commonly, these exploits allow execution (or interpreting) a file, that was uploaded through website interface, be it perl, php, s...

RE: Registry Mechanic

@bobjam : The real problem is that Microsoft provides not all software required for decent PC maintenance. A good step in right direction is pushing Microsoft Security Essentials for people without decent antivirus. That would solve a lot of problems.

RE: Registry Mechanic

I would say there is no reason to use any registry cleaner in 99% of cases, be it ccleaner or some other tool. Over-maintenance might lead to problems as well. I run scans with ccleaner when I want to delete temporally files only, nor I recommend using any of them for others. PCTools was purchased b...

RE: Google conspiracies

Nothing unusual. There are various conspiracies about any major company for years. Some have some truth in them, some do not.

RE: found some "gambling" websites: scam, malware or what?

My opinion 1. Detections rated RiskWare, PUP (Potentially unwanted program), PUA (potentialy unwanted application) does not justify (for me) rating site as distributing Malware. This has long, historical and practical reasons (aka blocking downloading such applications for children). 2. However, I w...

I would guess it was just an attempt to spam in different locale than yours.
