RE: Online Cheating Site AshleyMadison Hacked

This just proves the point of don't do something you wouldn't want printed on the front page of the local paper. I completely disagree with the criminal hacking of their systems but people need to start realizing that you really do not have privacy on-line. Whether from accidental leaks, hackers, or...

RE: Firefox now blocks all versions of Adobe Flash.

I use NoScript and do not allow scripts on sites until I really trust them. This works for the most part, some functionality is reduced but the site is generally usable. I'm starting to wonder if I want to use Flash at all - even I sites I trust. Maybe if enough people complain the sites will stop u...

RE: Please add a big "Malware" score icon!

I don't see the need for a "Malware" specific score. I believe the "Trustworthiness" score covered it just fine. If a site is rated as untrustworthy for any reason I tend to avoid it. Maybe it is rated poorly because of a bad customer experience but could be 100% clean. I wouldn't want to use the si...

RE: New Zealand Makes Trolling Punishable by up to 3 Years in Pr

I agree with the need for this and similar laws - just Google SWATting to see a serious aspect of the problem. However, I'm think we need to proceed with caution. I get worried when there is vague language like "offensive, obscene, indecent, menacing or knowingly false content". Who defines what is ...

RE: Activity Score Not Chaning

Thanks for the clarification. I had not seen the score stick at one number this long before. Thanks to everyone that has put time and effort into this tool and the forums. Great tool, I never surf without it.

Activity Score Not Chaning

I noticed last week that my activity score as been stuck at 8089 for sometime now. I have rated new sites and posted to the forums but the score hasn't changed. I am logged in. Am I doing something wrong? Does MyWOT not longer track activity scores? Anyone else having this problem. WOT is working fi...

RE: Windows 10 will share your Wi-Fi key with your friends' frie

What a bad idea. Just as we started to make progress in the "secure out of the box" campaign the millennial / mobile generation came along and wanted everything to "just work". As IT professionals we should know better.

RE: Bad news for software freedom

This is what happens when a small number of people with a legal training background try to made decisions outside of their area of expertise. Be it computer science, medical science, climate science, etc. I don't ask my doctor his opinion on the Windows Server 2003 end of support date and required t...

RE: Ransomware Creator Apologizes and Offers up Decryption Keys

Assuming this is real (I did read the story)... if this person really wants to apologize they should refund any money they collected based on their criminal activity. I would assume most people who had their data encrypted by ransomware would have reformatted the drives by now. Posting the decryptio...

RE: Windows XP still in use on millions of machines

People loved Windows XP - it was stable, worked well for most home uses. People hated Windows Vista - it was not stable, didn't work well for most home uses. By the time most of the problems with Vista were resolved Windows 7 was right around the corner so people waited, clinging to Windows XP for d...
