RE: A poll I'd like to see conducted on WoT

g7w: Curiously, the preferences in the WoT addon in Firefox are greyed out. I don't know whether this is a bug in the build or a simple conflict; it makes no difference whether I enable/disable, uninstall and reinstall... Wait a minute... I just realized it is perfectly possible to navigate to setti...

RE: A poll I'd like to see conducted on WoT

Interesting, as an adjunct to the previous poll on cummulative ratings. In the past, I have tended to focus only on the warning splash screen - a total red rating. Even at that, I rely on my own security (wisely or not) and in nine cases out of ten might proceed to the site regardless. Now, what if ...

I had better watch out. I opened some wine. Worse, some time ago. It is presently doing its stuff.

RE: WOT is NOT what it used to be

I didn't know that, Destination Truth, but it makes perfect sense. That he should be eroded by phobia. Some of the themes he explored in his shorter fiction are as deeply rooted in primal fear and loathings as anything by Kafka. There is a short story by Bukowsk - from the late 60s, possibly - which...

RE: WOT is NOT what it used to be

You know. There was a time when I read everything by Harlan Ellison, Charles Beaumont, Richard Matheson that I could lay my hands on. Philip Kindred Dick, too, of course. And Ray Bradbury, whose short stories always blew the more famous longer pulps clean out the water. I just got a heavy dose as De...

RE: WOT is NOT what it used to be

g7w: Sequences 2; 3; and 4, I have read and digested. I approve of the clarity, and the concise history lesson regards comments. Sequence 1 steals the show. And seals your good repution, in my opinion. I reread it three or four times, already. I'm still not entirely certain where its aimed, but I ad...

RE: Site review request -- Aquatiz.com

Arceus beat me to it, and his opinion is to be trusted. For what it's worth - and I am purely a novice here too: Site returns clean on URLVoid, no identified issues regards phising, spyware or malware. Scanning site with: AMaDa CLEAN Scanning site with: BrowserDefender UNRATED Scanning site with: DN...

RE: domain versus - EDITED (and solved)

I just caught your message on my board. Thank you for solving this, g7w. I'm impressed. Now that you've explained it, the discrepancy in category handling, the "suspicious" rating makes perfect sense. I agree. The options you present as a remedy to URLVoid's tarring sites which contain adult themes ...

RE: WOT's rating for AmericansAgainstHate.org

Referencing "Political / religious sites; and not those by "extremists" which are not a threat from Malware / Spam / scam / Phishing should receive unbiased ratings when approached within these forums." I have to agree unreservedly with this statement. And go one step beyond. In my opinion, it is da...
