EvaPharmacy domains

These are domains for EvaPharmacy affiliate sites, formerly known as "Bulker.biz," and before that "Yambo Financials." They're absolutely amazing in terms of brazen lies on the websites. They also register their domains with the real names and stolen credit card numbers of identity theft victims. Th...

should be self correcting

If there is someone who is rating sites lower than everyone else, it should make their reliability low enough it doesn't affect a site's rating much. If there were a system that automatically submitted a site for rating by the community as soon as any ratings were submitted, it would prevent ratings...

Avira is pretty sensitive

Avira has a high detection rate, but they do have higher than average false positives. They aren't all that well known, at least in the U.S., where most people are either getting their AV product free from their ISP, or starting with a free trial with a new computer, or buying a boxed software produ...

same thing

I only get it after I tell NoScript to allow trialpay.com. Avira isn't letting the popunder load no how, no way . TrialPay has had a shaky reputation. You get software "free" but have to pay it off by completing a list of purchases from their sponsors. They collect your credit card number in case yo...

@g7w

> I see these domains use a different site template compared to my last screen capture I haven't tried loading through a proxy, so I don't know if the American flag image is presented to visitors from other countries. There is some uproar in Russia right now, not only because Kuvayev has been jailed...

Pharmacy Express

These are domains for the "Pharmacy Express" Russian scam pharma affiliate program (not to be confused with the actual pharmacy called Pharmacy Express, located at the address these sites put on their forged pharmacy license). Despite the head of their affiliate program, Leo Kuvayev, being in prison...

It's supposed to have a purpose

The whole idea of reCAPTCHA is that only one of the images is the test. The other is something in a literary source that OCR software is having trouble identifying. Having people who solve CAPTCHAs also help decipher those is useful to digitizing books, especially works whose only hard copies are ag...

CAPTCHA

Okay, CAPTCHAs are officially out of hand. I just got a reCAPTCHA when I posted a WOT comment that included this mathematical forumula: βσ2t-1 Not only did it include Greek characters, the 2 should have been a superscript and the t-1 a subscript. I had to use Microsoft Word to get the beta and sigma...

Intimidating technical talk

I agree that it can seem intimidating to new visitors to the forum. You guys are very tough and know what you're doing. But what I've also noticed is that your approach to the WOT rating scale is more red-weighted than the average web user's might be. The people who are posting all their personal in...

Not targeted

I'm getting a crapload of spam like that. I have some unfiltered email addresses, so I see everything that arrives. If you only saw one DHL email, some spam filter spared you all the rest. The spammers' strategy seems to be to send as many variants as possible to see what bypasses filters. Of course...
