Hi, I’m Alec Difawi and I’m the founder of Gigats. There is a lot of misleading information about Gigats that I would like to clear up. Gigats is a job board that connects users with job opportunities based on their interests, education and employment history. We’re also building other tools such as early alert systems, employer research, and resume building services to assist job seekers in any way we can. These services are free, and are paid for by advertising.

The majority of information you read about Gigats is false, perpetuated by bloggers who are more than likely doing it for competitive reasons. In fact, our company won $1.9 million in damages for defamation from one of these bloggers earlier this year, the details of which can be found here:

The vast majority of Gigats users enjoy our services and are appreciative of the work we do to help them better their careers. Please disregard second-hand information and try the service for yourself before judging it.

Are the following adverse news stories somehow related to this site evaluation?

Hi, my name is Peter and I work for Gigats

Gigats.com is more than just a website.

It seems to me that you are pushing the sales pitch/marketing tac rather than responding to a site evaluation request. Hardly encourages people to give you a chance does it?

Those posts could get you marked for spam by WOT members.

It would probably benefit you far more by having truelly satisfied customers who you found jobs for, leave their comments here and on your scorecard rather than push employees to do so.

Having been a branch manager and national manager of a large recruitment company in the past I know that good customer feedback is far more valuable and better received than anything an employee has to say.

Neither the domain's whois registration nor it's "contact us" page offers any postal address or local phone number, yet the service requests this information (and more) from prospective clients. I find this highly unethical for a commercial entity.

Searching the forums, I've discovered an old post (14 Oct 2010): Gigats gigats.com phishing scam

You have to go to http://myclerk.myorangeclerk.com/ and then enter case number 2009-CA-000712-O. If you look closely, you can see that is a 'default judgement' rather than a contested case and that it is under appeal.

Once you have done that, I suggest you search for case 2010-CA-022724-O where Alec Difrawi and his 'businesses' are also trying to sue WOT and several of its members.

I think there may be many more lawsuits filed, and I suspect that he is looking to file more. Perhaps that is his motive being here?

One other question. Do you misspell your name often?
