Blocking unwanted sites from accessing my phone

Post by Pottsy1569 » Tue Dec 15, 2020 8:34 pm

I keep getting unwanted sites just popping up on my chrome every time I've got my data or Wi-Fi turned on.it doesn't what I'm doing on my phone, it just stops whatever I'm doing & takes me to my chrome as the unwanted sites start to load in

This forum is mainly for discussion of web site safety and WOT services - not device configuration and problems (which your message suggests), but here's some quick tips ...

Install a major brand security app that provides continuous protection, and scan your entire device for malware and unsafe networks (with Wi-Fi on).

Make sure that system and software updates are enabled for your device and apps, so you get the latest security patches. Don't install apps before researching if they are safe.

Your permissions may be too lax. Go through each of your apps and online accounts and adjust permission settings and options so they make sense. Also check special permissions or exclusions in your browser app for individual web sites and services. Fewer is better.

If prompts (pop-ups) don't explain why you should say "yes", just say "no".

Personally, I do not use Chrome because of security issues that seem to be ever present.

Here is just one recent issue with Chrome as an example:
