I do say, the strangest thing happened this morning on WOT

Agreed

I've noticed quite a few problems this morning.

I got bumped off of my ISP (Cable) and took several hours to get reconnected.

And a Web site that was working a few minutes earlier suddenly stopped working. Very strange.

you stay logged in?

Post by alphacentauri » Mon Sep 06, 2010 3:09 pm

I always have to log in every time I visit. I thought it was some privacy paranoia and MyWOT only gives people session cookies.

But with other forums, I will have to log in at intervals (every few months) as the "keep me logged in" cookies expire.

"For some reason I wasn't logged in..."

I've seen that a couple of times in the past. Refreshing the page usually helps...

I have also noticed the site

I have also noticed the site come to a complete standstill where upto a minute would pass before I could do anything. I assumed it was perhaps a search or scrape bot hammering the WOT system. Seems ok now though.

I've seen that too recently. Usually it's Ghostery being lost in an endless loop...

I didn't consider that addon

I didn't consider that addon being the cause. Thanks. Will keep an eye open to see if this happens again and if it is the factor.

May depend on the browser too

IssViews: "I didn't consider that addon being the cause."

Maybe the browser is also involved; at least I didn't noticed the cause,
before Firefox lost it patience and offered to 'continue or cancel'...

Nope, Firefox had no

Nope, Firefox had no problems with open windows on other sites. Was just WOT.

The add-on automatically logs you in if you have synchronized it to your account. This feature can be turned off on the profile edit page though. If you don't have an add-on, you'll need to log in manually after each session.

Did this start during the weekend? Someone's been hammering our web servers recently from several IP addresses, which caused some slowdowns.
