IP addresses not blocked?

Post by sowhat-x » Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:40 pm

Hi guys - very nice work there ;-)

Seems to me that malware-hosting 'pure' ip addresses are not blocked,
but only sites hosted in dns resolvable domains?
At least that's what I understand after a quick testing done against few of them,
randomly choosen from malwaredomainlist...

Which is really a pity...as lots of well-known sites hosting exploit packs etc,
either don't use a resolvable domain name at all...or per case,
the exact opposite takes place:many domains hosted on exactly the same ip...
their dns names get dropped/changed say in less than a couple of days,
(yeah,'smart' guys fooling around with dns),
but active malware serving http server (and ip obviously...) still remains the same.
Any ideas about it,guys...say for future inclusion or something?

You're right, we weren't using the IP address from malwaredomainlist if a hostname was available too. This will be fixed shortly. Thanks!
