Google fined 100,000 Euros
The National Commission for Information Freedom in France has just issued a fine to Google for 100,000 Euros, small potatoes to Google but I feel it is a signficant ruling which shows Google of wrong doing.
The French authority conducted a series of spot checks and found that Google was collecting data from unencrypted WiFi networks without the knowledge of the individuals. Google claim this data was collected "by mistake."
CNIL says that the data captured includes technical data, as well as sensitive personal information such as usernames, passwords, login details and even email exchanges revealing sensitive information about sexual orientation or health.

A wake up call, indeed.
Next time you sit down at your desktop, be aware that the satellete is peering through the window - just as originally feared - and Google is not only reading your login information, but knows what brand of boxer shorts you wear. All this before you step outdoors with your laptop and smartphone.
As for Bing. Bill Gates is Austin Powers.
Seriously. Disturbing.
Maybe this EC Directive is long overdue.

Its good that you have nothing bad to hide but a lot of other info that you can't share with your spouse than how could you share that information with google...

Well. I am not immune to a certain degree of loyalty to Google either. The motto originally conjured up by Paul Buchheit - the creator of Gmail - and Amit Patel has taken a bit of a bashing over the years, but still engenders a fair bit of trust.
But. "I would give my data from my pc to google " ?
Sooner you than me. Everybody has something to hide; at the very least, everybody has just cause to preserve their privacy.
And even though you might trust Google implicitly, concerted attempts to 'crack' Gmail accounts - Operation Aurora, for example - more than amply demonstrate that there is an army of individuals out there with an agenda at odds with the principle.
"Don't Be Evil" is a fine slogan.
I am not about to take it too literally, though, or deaden my senses to the potential for it to be usurped.
Hear No Evil; See No Evil; Speak No Evil.

Google... those sneaky bastards... I'm seriously disturbed with what they are doing there...
Look at analytics and their webmasters tools. What you basically do with that as website owner- let them crawl and crunch up your data. Say you have database of statistics there you busted your a... to aggregate. Google on the other hand doesn't need to move a finger to get it from you and use it at some point in their projects if they will.
Now trying to crawl google.com for some automated tasks (like finding your site to keyword position in results will get your IP blocked for period from and hour to several hours. Try doing the same task by hand- next page, ctrl+f, next page, ctrl+f... and you get warning - what are you trying to do there mr.
They are seriously people to avoid- but it's not that easy when you're used to somuch of their products.

RE: Google fined 100,000 Euros
because the subject we talk about is data from our PC (computers) in the hands of google
Many times you have some confidential data such as software code or some banking user id and passwords which are stored in your PC and after knowing this things can you provide access of your PC to Google or can share your PC data with Google...
No i don't think any one would do that...
