@ Myxt,

While I don't disagree with your statement that "This is not a software review forum", I think charoxx's request is valid.

If it were a request to review software totally unrelated to security (and NO, this is not a "security" forum either, but his request comes close enough to member's concerns), I might be more inclined to agree with you.

Uninstallers are frequently used by people here, and are related to dubious software found on some sites.

I would be inclined to grant charrox (who is not a novice member) some leeway and not hold him to strict WOT site rating issues. (If it were a novice I might feel differently . . . but charrox has earned some whiskers).

Please don't take my remarks as abrasive. Just an opinion.

Agreed. I'm a long time Revo Uninstaller (free version) user.

Thanks for comments, I was out these days. That's why I couldn't reply.

I just wanted to know your experiences. I am currently using the advanced uninstaller PRO 10 for the trial period. (edit - until recently I uninstalled it)

@Myxt
I checked all the cnet reviews before. Still I am skeptical of these stuff, specially with the rogues flying around.
I wanted "real" experiences from a community which I trust.

BTW, I didn't get to see the original comment made by you to which BobJam had replied. Wish I saw that.

I am aware that this is not a software forum. Also, I didn't ask something like "how to geek with windows 7". I asked for comments about this because I thought this was related to safety, specially when there are many rogue vendors promoting their rogue software through their sites. There are nice remarks and fake seals everywhere. So to know if I have missed something I posted this topic.

@leofelix

I too used REVO UNINSTALLER to unistall Uninstaller Pro :)

That was just me, not paying attention to enough clues at first; but then I did, and started revising my post. BobJam replied before I could update. Anyway, it wasn't a poison-pen letter.

I will say that if you continue doing the careful research you describe, you probably won't need to do very much uninstalling. Also, companies like AOL, McAfee, Symantec, etc, whose products behave like independent operating systems, usually provide cleanup tools to remove traces of their bloatware which remain after a standard "uninstall".
