WOT for Camino?

Post by Security_Wiz » Sun Aug 24, 2008 10:05 pm

Hi,

Thanks for making WOT! Although I use Firefox and Safari, I have recently noticed Camino, a Mac browser. I have started using it, and it uses the same engine thing that Mozilla uses. Is it possible to make WOT for Camino users, to? If it is and the staff can, you can post it on http://www.pimpmycamino.com. There are currently no security extensions/addons for Camino so far.

Thanks!

Sorry, we haven't looked into that. Does Camino have a documented interface for extensions?

Yes, I think it does. I know extensions are available, they use the same engine thing as Mozilla Firefox.

Even if Camino uses Gecko, it doesn't mean they have an interface for extensions. We know Safari can be extended too, but the interface hasn't been documented anywhere to my knowledge, which creates a bit of a problem. We'll check it out.

Okay, thanks! If you need any more information, good Camino websites are:

http://www.caminobrowser.org
http://www.pimpmycamino.com
http://www.caminoplanet.com

Or the Mozilla forums, which has a Camino section. Also, http://www.pimpmycamino.com has a list of currently available Camino extensions/addons.

This was 4 years ago and still no Camino support...I just started using Camino and the only flaw is no WOT extension. What's the status on this?

Approximately 0.000002% of visitors to our website in the last 30 days have been using Camino. It's not really in our interests to invest time supporting this browser.
