<quote user="jazspeak"> There is no reason why those domains being rated via the MRT can't be automatically posted onto the forum, perhaps with each MRT user having a designated thread so that the lists can be easily attributed to that member using the MRT.[/quote]

Not sure how this can be implemented, whether it will be viable and not become a massive resource hog for WOT servers, but your idea certainly gives food for thought. Perhaps, as you say the MRT forum threads could be based on users themselves showing all MRT ratings, automatically updated when they use this tool. A bit like their own board scorecard rating/comment section. I don't know, there is so many possibilities to consider.

I do believe an MRT forum only availableto MRT users will be beneficial. So far, there is no place MRT users can debate or post outside of the normal forums (if they wish to do so) for the benefit of other MRT users.

First, a reminder.
WOT ratings are cast by secret ballot
Even MRT users have right to some privacy concerning how they rate, though they are forced to create comments which are, as any comment, publicly displayed.

As for the MRT users forum where you must have access to MRT to post, but all can read...
I requested this a couple years ago; before the site template changed from the blue-template to the current one. Staff considered the idea... to be "restrictive" among it's users Instead, the Site Evaluations forum was created for domain owners, and the "MRT list" forum remained in the Reputation Discussions forum. But the

List of domains/hosts

tag was designed to reduce post length for long domain lists, which has become misused from the inclusion of Registrar, URL, or other extraneous data

Now this one I can totally agree on! A closed forum that only MRT users can read, or can post on. In such a forum the more experienced users could exchange ideas how to track down scams most efficiently. That information in the hand of the wrong people would make it harder for us to track them down.

Such closed forums exist also on other platforms. The ebay powerseller forum i.e.

Another, maybe even better option would be to be able to create closed user groups. An MRT forum is good, but as long as MRT status is given automatically there is a (even remote) chance of misuse.

I don't think that IssViews was advocating a closed forum (but he will correct me if I am wrong).

Therefore, there is no need for such secretiveness on WOT. Since WOT members are free to join any other forums then those members who wish to hold discussions behind closed doors can do so on those other closed forums.

IMHO WOT should be trying to be as transparent as possible, and the forum is a good place for such transparency regarding MRT use. There have been issues and accusations of sites being inappropriately swept into MRT lists (false positives) and the suggestion of using the forum for greater transparency of MRT use would arguably go further than any closed forum to assuage some of those issues and accusations.

It doesn't have to be a closed forum, just that MRT members will be the only people that can post in it. Other WOT members could be given the option to view or not (which could be decided by WOT and the feedback on this).

Regardless of what is decided (open or closed MRT forum) we should have an area dedicated to this use imo.

So you would also be against private messaging then I presume. MYWOT has that feature.

There are other rating sites too. A site owner will usually try to keep the user base and not encourage them to wander off to other sites.

Not at all. If two WOT members want to hold a private conversation then that is fine by me but I don't like discussing sites and/or their owners in places where they can't defend themselves.

Thank you! That was a very sensible decision that you made. I just noticed the corresponding update in the WOT Wiki. It looks very good, easy to understand.

Oh! I'm sorry! I see what happened.

SAMI
You should probably look at the link in everyone's profile pages, about reputation. I just happened to click on it now for the first time in awhile, and arrived here, with the only thing visible on the screen being your announcement of 4 Jan 2013 about the ceiling of 10,000 set on reputation points displayed. That is why I entered what must have appeared to be a non-sequitur comment in this MRT thread.

More relevant: Your quoted entry and a reply was already entered in the response comment box. I don't think you want that. It confused me, and I know my way around here somewhat, by now. Second, for someone who doesn't know better, it would be very confusing. It is not consistent with WOT or most other forum standards, that is, to click a link and automatically have a pre-formatted response be the next thing one sees on one's screen.
