Wot is being manipulated by microworkers previously banned by Sami.
I will no longer be contributing to wot as I can't trust it.

Sorrow
The sweet smell of a great sorrow lies over the land
Plumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden sky
A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers
But awakes to a morning with no reason for waking

He's haunted by the memory of a lost paradise
In his youth or a dream, he can't be precise
He's chained forever to a world that's departed
It's not enough, it's not enough

His blood has frozen and curdled with fright
His knees have trembled and given way in the night
His hand has weakened at the moment of truth
His step has faltered

One world, one soul
Time pass, the river rolls

And he talks to the river of lost love and dedication
And silent replies that swirl invitation
Flow dark and troubled to an oily sea
A grim intimation of what is to be

There's an unceasing wind that blows through this night
And there's dust in my eyes that blinds my sight
And silence that speaks so much louder that words
Of promises broken

What a shame when a valued and dedicated member feels they must leave WOT because they can no longer trust those who administrate it.

What's this WOT coming to?

WOT's Terms of Service states
You shall not distribute, sell, rent, lease or by any commercial means use the Services or otherwise transfer for value the Services or the Content. You agree not to challenge WOT's rights in or otherwise attempt to assert any rights in the Services, except those provided under the Terms. You agree not to use the Services except as expressly permitted under these Terms.

The Services or the Content may not be used in any way, which is harmful or otherwise offensive for WOT, other users of the Services, or third parties. WOT reserves the right to deny any access to anyone to WOT at any time and for any reason, including, but not limited to, for violation of this agreement.

Basically this means when a user fraudently offers ratings in exchange for money their account will be banned.

Why are banned accounts being "restored"?

I can see why accounts might not be banned, but set to have zero or negative influence -- so they don't keep making new accounts, or so it is easier to see who their clients are.

I can't see a lot of reason to restore banned ones long after the fact, though.

Here's "fiverr"' again on the right in top : http://www.dailyblogtips.com/advertise
And : http://www.dailyblogtips.com/monetize-new-blog
My comment on that : https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/dailyblogtips.com?utm_source=addon&utm_content=rw-viewsc
Monetize your blog..... yeah right. But there are limits and this has gone over the edge

Shazza reported two users to me who have been abusing our system basically selling ratings. I banned them both and one of them is still banned. Other one contacted us and he promised not to continue this behavior. I decided to give him second change. I think everyone deserves it.

Well heck he did promise and we all know that promises made by people who manipulate website ratings for profit can always be trusted. /SARC

C'mon Timo...I mean really?

Trust but verify

Forgiveness is considered a virtue, some people have told me. Anyhow, WOT also has those algorithms that detect suspicious user activities (although Shazza evidently outperformed them). In a quirky way, this situation reminds me of a foxhunt (i.e., the algorithms chasing the microworkers).

Tally-ho?

Being unbanned has nothing to do with being trusted.

To ban
Not to ban
To un-ban

These are prerogatives of Staff.

However, IMHO, there should be a minimum "ban time" with cases that breach WOT's Terms of Service, such as selling ratings on a micro-worker site. A mandatory six month period before any request to be reinstated is accepted would be fair, after all it was the user who made the decision to "break the rules." As far as rating reliability when reinstated, I hope they're placed in a negative zone where they have to work twice as hard to regain the system's trust.

@Timo =

You gave your word on
I decided to give him second change. I think everyone deserves it.
You should keep it, and this user may turn out to be a great member, but you will keep your word and that is very important, for anyone, but in particular someone that will manage, this add-on

@Notbuyingit==<==cite> (i.e., the algorithms chasing the microworkers).[/cite]

Nice analogy, but in this case it was a combined effort with DrSumit; I was just the man in the middle, but I would not want to undermine the work of Drsumit that gave me a very important piece of what he was doing, and with his permission I gave it to Shazza

Shazza, which is like an eagle and has burned many micros before,, went on to close the deal

For me not to mention Drsumit would have been extremely unfair for his excellent work at WOT, but Shazza did mention him in her thread and that makes a perfect example of what members, can accomplish together, when the goal is the same

Thanks to help from Superhero58&drsumit, we've managed to find proof that Wot members

This is in my opinion, another great idea that, CoG brings to the staff, and should be considered, as is forgiven, but verifiable I truly believe that WOT's best days are ahead !
