Google's Blogger to put sexually explicit content behind privacy wall
The search company says any blog with sexually explicit content or graphic nudity will be made private as of March 23. Blogs created after that may be removed, depending on the severity of the content.

New bloggers who want to create adult-oriented content on Google's service after March 23 could face outright removal of their blogs, depending on the severity of content.

Google Chrome now warns about nefarious sites
Are you worried about the site you may want to look at? Google Chrome is going to warn you before you visit a site that encourages you to download nefarious programs that make undesirable changes to your computer or interfere with your online experience.

If you are about to visit one of these sites, you will see a red warning message> "The site ahead contains harmful programs."

Google is backing off a decision to conceal sexually explicit material on its Blogger service in reaction to an outcry from people incensed about the censorship of their nude photos.

Chrome: Now, in addition to showing warnings before you download unwanted software, Chrome will show you a new warning, like the one below, before you visit a site that encourages downloads of unwanted software.
Search: Google Search now incorporates signals that identify such deceptive sites. This change reduces the chances you’ll visit these sites via our search results.
Ads: We recently began to disable Google ads that lead to sites with unwanted software.

Unwanted Software Policy

It is deceptive, promising a value proposition that it does not meet.
It tries to trick users into installing it or it piggybacks on the installation of another program.
It doesn’t tell the user about all of its principal and significant functions.
It affects the user’s system in unexpected ways.
It is difficult to remove.
It collects or transmits private information without the user’s knowledge.
It is bundled with other software and its presence is not disclosed.

There is nothing to prevent the itinerant scam artist from using a blogger page as a landing site or redirection page, probably.

I really hate how they force one to use a certain local version of a site based upon one's IP address as well. It's getting to be where the average user will need VPN, just because.

You can install Disconnect Search (disconnect.me/search) for your browser, this allows you to choose what location you wish the results to be shown from - UK, US, etc.

now have Disconnect & Disconnect Search use Disconnect for a long time all so bookmark

https://search.disconnect.me/

http://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_report?url=https://search.disconnect.me

The site offered the Heartbeat TLS extension prior to the Heartbleed disclosure. The extension is now disabled, but the server is still using the same certificate.

The certificate offered on *.disconnect.me before the Heartbleed announcement has not yet been revoked.

and it looks like only works with google, bing, yahoo, duckduckgo, blekko.
