Ghostery / NoScript certainly help with privacy and certainly have some issues. A bigger concern I have is that fact that to interact with a web site you, by definition, must leave data on that system - even if it is just a log of your IP address. Sites that I regularly do business with have far more information about - such as Amazon. While there is nothing in my Amazon purchase history that would embarrass me if made public I still don't want out there for everyone to see.

Unfortunately, if you want privacy you need to go to a book store and buy the book with cash, not order from Amazon, because even if Amazon never reveals the information they have about you there is always the risk that they get hacked. This is the world we live in now. If it causes people to stop and think about their actions maybe that is a good thing that can come out of it.

But at what price ?
Opt in to information that have nothing to do with every day session connection cookie

Information gathered, for other purposes should be deleted after some reasonable time

The "big hats" don't get it, greed could destroy even the internet; is not invincible as some people believe and and there is out there, good books waiting to be read ............... and, other humans to talk to and you won't need good WiFi connection to do so

The other day I stop by the beach and I was in awe at the beauty that I had before me .............. I am having a barbecue this week, with some old friends and no, no "smartphones" are allowed, in this, I made it a point

Such beauty interrupted by this device, would be a blasphemy, you never know maybe we will have a bonfire like in the days gone bye :)

I could probably get my Korean friends to do this but it would be like asking them to walk around blind-folded.

Back on topic: I had a friend here do a review of AshleyMadison so as to determine if it were real or not and they found their employees here using local chat apps like Kakao talk to chat up members one time and then disappear so as to bait members into paying out more money for their "service" since they actually got a text that they thought was from an actual women who was looking for men.
These guys are frauds.

The Privacy risks category evidently should have already received more emphasis on the ashleymadison.com scorecard, but hasn't.

Well as Lennon , will say =

What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin' to do
It's up to you, yeah you
Instant Karma's gonna get you

"Instant Karma"
It is a sad situation and I don't condone the actions of the "hackers" or "crackers": .............. they may have to face Instant Karma too :- O

I have a friend that did a blog review of this site and, in the course of events signed up, ponied up around 100 USD to really try the service and according to him and his friends, the service is fraudulent. He told me that they never had a meeting with any local women, only had pokes from women(?) from the other side of the planet and supposedly one woman texted him through his mobile app but not meeting was made and the woman vanished from the application directory. Their goal was to simply find out if the site was real or a scam and they succeeded, IMHO.

He said that the email account they used for this review was exposed and that, as of this weekend, is now getting a flurry of porn spam from Russian porn/scam sites.

It sounds like the owner of Ashley Madison has sold off the exposed accounts to other criminals.

It appears that a few people have actually committed suicide due to this data dump of Ashley Madison customer information. I think someone will be suing Avid Media soon:
