Stuart Macfarlane's Sites

Post by Figure10 » Mon Nov 21, 2011 7:12 am

I've run across what looks like hundreds of sites owned by one man, many with green ratings, some deep red. Most seem harmless, though their sheer number baffles me. Here are a few:

Re "any idea how these should be rated?"

As with any site, they should each be rated on merit rather than because the site owner has enough money to own and register heaps of sites.

That's what I've been doing. Many of them use the same template and have similar content, though. I was wondering if someone knew if there was any more to it.

Stuart MacFarlane is a writer in Scotland and the websites mostly promote his books, I'd guess. He may run a "side business" trading in domain names. Scottish writers often need side businesses, or so I have been told. See http://stuartmacfarlane.com/

http://www.no-rabbie-burns.com is a parody site for a book of Scottish poetry definitely "not written by Robert Burns"; e.g, To a Vegetarian Haggis. I found no scorecard comments explaining its adverse ratings, which may be inaccurate.

SHORT-STORIES-FOR-KIDS.ORG is essentially no-functional. I found no scorecard comments explaining its adverse ratings, which may be inaccurate.

Visited both sites and found no substantial reasons for any poor ratings, so I rated them.
