systweak.com

Post by Fantozzi » Sat Apr 20, 2013 5:04 pm

Hi! I do not understand how to consider to the site systweak.com (WOT Reputation Scorecard).

It has Excellent reputation in all categories, but it has 25 red comments since July 2011.

The site has a tag: «Microsoft partner». What do you think about it?

Hello Fantozzi,

Site comments do not affect the reputation of a website, so therefore, the company that owns it could have spammed ratings under different IPs or used the rogue software (if it is rogue) to take control of the victims computer and rate the website falsely.

My advice is to check the programs they have with VirusTotal. (virustotal.com/ru or virustotal.com/en )

Thanks,
Kooler.

Hello Fantozzi
I have tested regclean pro - it's a misleading app / scareware .

I would advise that you dont download any registry cleaner . If you know how to clean your registry manually do so, if you dont, leave it
alone. No optimiser / reg cleaner will drastically improve your pc's performance.

The rating on this scorecard is probably due to the vast amount of affiliates they have.

@Fantozzi - on systweak.com front page is a graphic "Microsoft Partner - Gold Independent Software Vendor (ISV)".
It links to here:
http://pinpoint.microsoft.com/en-IN/partners/Systweak-India-4295548206?LocId=289313292606766

The Microsoft page says systweak.com is a "Microsoft Partner - Gold Application Development".
Click "Microsoft Partner" to view an explanation of "Certification Levels":
http://pinpoint.microsoft.com/en-IN/Certifications
There it says:
1. Microsoft recognizes competencies in 25 kinds of business solutions.
2. A Gold Partner uses best practices in a specific kind of business solution.

Below this, it describes the kind of business solution named "Application Development":
Partners with this competency have proven expertise in developing innovative applications using Microsoft platform technologies, including Windows Server and Windows 8 operating systems, the Windows Azure platform, Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 development system, and emerging cloud-based and web business models. (Formerly the Independent Software Vendor (ISV)/Software, Software Development and Web Development competencies.)

SO: systweak.com is a "Microsoft Partner" only because they are experts at writing software which works in Microsoft Windows and on the web. Maybe ...

Here are the instructions for being listed on Microsoft Pinpoint as a "Partner":
http://pinpoint.microsoft.com/en-IN/partnercenter
Join the Microsoft Partner Network > Create a profile with your company overview and offerings > Done!

In simplest terms, this "Gold Partner" status is a paper dragon.

At the moment Systweak programs are distributed using adware/trojans. Probably not their own doing, but they don't care too much about that. However, their registry cleaner installs their antivirus silently, without consent.
Done some tests with some adware bundle, was surprised with the silent installation and the fact that Advanced System Protector detects some other programs in the bundle (in fact, its install file) as malicious http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv3YvDmk2Ao
Would stay away from both regclean and Advanced System Protector for now, even if they show no false positives.

This website is very great, very trust worthy.. I read too many reviews about this company and they were mixed. But after using there apps and communicating with there tech team i can say that they are professionals and works very hard to keep their customers satisfied. I thank myself that i ignored all the reviews on web and purchased ASO for my windows to clean it. Now it works so smooth. I would suggest all of you that systweak does not have any malware and you are being fooled by these negative reviews which could be a competitor practice to let them down.

The negative reviews are from trusted wot members, not competitors. The products are a waste of time, do contain riskware / adware and can cause more harm than good.

Your reviews appear to be suspect:

Please explain to the class how you managed to only be concerned with questionable services?

A Sarah Connor has written articles about software from three different websites all of which happen to be owned by Systweak Inc.

No doubt just a coincidence....

So assuming that it is the same person and it isn't a microworker then she is out selling some likely piss-pot-poor products. Marvelous!

I can't count how many "reviews" and advice articles out there are just thinly disguised sales pitches and excuses for affiliate links(not that they are inherently bad- but creating tons of flimsy reviews just to hope that people click on the links is a whole other deal...)
