Integrity of WOT Ratings

Post by Frank J » Thu Oct 24, 2013 8:44 pm

This site http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/leads.slleads.com was rated as spam and also as a payday loan site. This site is a administration sign in portal to check customer home repair requests. This is also a Sears company. How can a beta tester rate this and comment the way they did?

I work for this company and most of you know me here by my reputation.

I am concerned that people really aren't familiar with what's bad and what's good.

Welcome back Frank J
Please p.m user GURBL to ask for a clarification.
As far I could see that site is technically clean
http://www.unmaskparasites.com/security-report/?page=https%3A//leads.slleads.com/
http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/?scan=leads.slleads.com

Clearly It is not a payday loan site.
GURBL is accustomed to rectify his ratings quickly when his ratings are no longer valid or when he is wrong (It may happen, we are human, after all)

Thank you

Just FYI.

Report on slleads.com:

Code: Select all

http://trafficlight.bitdefender.com/info?url=http://slleads.com

Report on leads.slleads.com:

Code: Select all

http://trafficlight.bitdefender.com/info?url=http://leads.slleads.com

ServiceLive is likely not "payday", but they should still try to resolve these reports with BitDefender.

It's a false positive. I work for ServiceLive which is a Sears company. I will do a deeper dive. Thank you!

How many ratings by users qualify a site to be regarded as 'unsatisfactory' etc.?

The reputation calculations aren't based upon a simple tally of the ratings submitted by users. Each user's ratings are weighted according to WOT's evaluation of that user's performance. Further, before WOT will assign any confidence to the reputation calculations for a site, the data must pass statistical tests that look for some sort of consensus. See
