Our apologies for the recent issues with the site

Dear users,

We deeply regret the bugs that came about on our site this week and apologize to you all.

We are grateful to all the users who pointed out and alerted us to the bugs. With your help we quickly understood what to test and how major the issues were.

The bugs resulted from the release of a new version of the website with bug fixes and updates. As soon as we understood the scale of the issue we decided to roll back the site to the previous version.

With such a long list of bugs to re-create, much of our effort was spent on site issues rather than keeping you all in the loop. Looking back, we clearly should have kept you all informed in real-time rather than after it was resolved. Please accept our apologies for this.

Moving forward we will try to keep the community more informed as to what's happening in real-time. And it goes without saying that we hope a site release with bugs on that scope never happens again.

Kind regards

We appreciate you taking some measures (the roll back)
I would like to suggest that you create a beta site that some of us could test before releasing. This has been done in the past and proved to be a proactive way to handle such a large scale change. This way WoT service doesn't lose trust in its users; especially the new users.

Thank you MyWOT Team for informing and dealing with the issues!

Confirmed: obnoxious errors while editing wiki pages do not appear as of now. Though the add-on is still continuing logging me out of session during active rating sites.

That appears to be the add-on's problem, not the site's itself.

We have a testing environment and are investigating how these bugs got through. Needless to say our QA team is having a busy weekend.

The testing environment is still https://beta.mywot.com/ ? It could be nice to have a dedicated thread to exchange with WOT Support about bugs in this environment.

IMHO, current reported bugs should be squashed _before_ new updates are made.
The beta subdomain would be great for testing upgrades and new bugs reported

When WOT 2.0 was in development, this was the URL for the closed beta with reports made by members invited to test, report bugs, etc.

Code: Select all

It goes without saying that our goal is always to squash all the bugs before updating the site version - for this we use beta on a daily basis.

www.mywot.com/beta/sneakpreview is good for testing an entirely new version of the but is less ideal for minor fixes that are released on a regular basis.
