As subtle flavors go in good cooking, "use sparingly". I would anticipate some experimentation with this new toy, but we don't want it to get like smilies are on some boards. I'm hoping that once the novelty wears off, this will settle down to a low roar.
We had a similar rush to try it out when images were introduced, and now I think they are only used when necessary . . . with the notable and positive exception of g7w's graphics, which have an entertainment value that more than offsets any negative value. I don't think colored text would fall in that same category though.
When used to highlight g7w's original idea of listing domain names to be rated, I think it's very positve. Any other use is going to have to be subject to mature judgement.

Thank you Timo; colors are nice
Hope this isn't abused to make "pretty topics"

True
It could be over used. But this seems like the appropriate place to give it a test.
